Being flexible in accessing distribution systems, overcoming logistical difficulties and making good use of free trade agreements (FTA) are important factors for Vietnamese goods to better access the Eurasian market.

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) on September 28 sent a document to the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade saying that Vietnam’s exports of some textiles and garments from January to July 2021 exceeded the quotas for preferential tariffs.

According to data from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products to the Russian market in the first 7 months of this year increased sharply by 34.2% over the same period last year, reaching 323. $26 million.

Vietnam has been the beneficiary of a Free Trade Agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union since 2016, as a result of which bilateral trade with Russia has boomed. Key imports from Russia, are petrol, oil, steel, fertilizers, and machinery. Major Vietnamese exports include phone components, electronic devices, computers, apparel, and footwear. Food exports include fruits, vegetables, coffee, cashew nut, and seafood.
